Santi Garcia 16 July 2019 - We are pleased to welcome Santi Garcia to our sales team. To help manage our growing customer base, Santi will take responsibility for key European accounts. Santi has 15 years sales experience, most recently in a Custom Manufacturing Organisation for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and veterinary industry. He studied Chemistry at The University of Barcelona and followed with a Masters Degree in Marketing & Commercial Management.

DC Fine Chemicals obtains GDP accreditation

15 February 2019 - As part of our drive for continuous improvement and with a focus on quality DC Fine Chemicals has hosted an audit by the Spanish Medicines Agency which found the company in compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP). DC Fine Chemicals acquires the business of John D Bolton

JDB 14 September 2018 - After manufacturing and supplying analytical reagents, indicators and biological stains for more than 50 years John D Bolton has retired and the business has been acquired by DC Fine Chemicals. “In addition to other laboratory reagents, John’s business has been a particularly strong supplier of biological stains and indicators, for example Hematoxylin and his trademarked iodine indicator, Vitex. This acquisition will give us an opportunity to begin manufacturing some products as well as expanding our customer base.”, said Lenny Loeb, Managing Director of DC Fine Chemicals. “The business and its ethos of quality align closely with that of DC’s so we expect the integration of the business to be seamless. We already offer most of the range supplied by John D Bolton.”

John Bolton, sole principal of John D Bolton, said “We were looking for a company to take over our business and continue providing excellent customer service to our customers. We are confident about transferring the business to a stable and well managed company like DC Fine Chemicals.”

Presentation on Excipients

18 June 2018 - DC Fine Chemicals directors Josep Cortes and Juli Orihuela presented a seminar for a pharmaceutical group of companies. More than 60 people from 12 group companies attended the event. The subject of the presentation was risk management for Pharmaceutical Excipients. This comprised a brief overview of ICH Q9 “Quality Risk Management” and a more detailed review of the Guidelines of 19 March 2015 on the formalised risk assessment for ascertaining the appropriate good manufacturing practice for excipients of medicinal products for human use (2015/C 95/02). Milk for Syrian Refugees

12 March 2018 - Contributing to One Drop Two Lives https://1drop2lives.org/, a scheme that donates milk for Syrian refugees, DC Fine Chemicals bought its employees lactose intolerance test kits. For every kit purchased 40 glasses of milk are donated with the dual benefit of providing nutrition to Syrian refugees and helping our employees to identify if they are lactose intolerant.

Distribution Agreement for Argentina

16 January 2018 – DC Fine Chemicals has signed a distribution agreement with AppChem for South America in order to expand its business in Latin America, beginning with Argentina. DC Fine Chemicals chose AppChem for their detailed market knowledge in the region and excellent track record of customer service.

Birthday Celebrations

1 September 2017 – As part of DC Fine Chemicals' 10th anniversary celebrations company employees enjoyed a mixture of chemicals including various carbohydrates, dyes, albumin, mixed amino acids, sodium bicarbonate, phosphate buffers, theobromine, caffeine washed down with a 12% ethanol solution with carbon dioxide and water. In other words, chocolate cake and Champagne.

Quality Control Laboratory

QC Lab 1 December 2016 – With a view to continuous improvement, DC Fine Chemicals has built a new QC laboratory in its facility near Barcelona, Spain. Instrumentation and equipment installed includes HPLC, IR, UV, melting point, titration and Karl Fischer. Further investment in instrumentation is planned. Miriam Miguel has been employed as a Qualified Person to take responsibility for Quality Control and Quality Assurance at DC Fine Chemicals. “Customers increasingly demand that we ensure product quality. We believe that our in-house testing facility will provide a further check to allow us to demonstrate that our products are of good quality and underpin our high levels of service to give our customers extra confidence.”, said Miriam. The Company intends to test every item it sells to demonstrate its high quality product offering.

New Registrations

8 August 2016 - DC Fine Chemicals has achieved registration from the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment for the importation of feed raw materials. Additionally, registration has been secured for the repacking and storage of such products by the Catalonian Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Food. As a result, we are now well placed to assist with customers’ feed additive requirements.
